Cary’s role is Senior Director of Recruiting and Development.  He has over 34 years in intercollegiate athletics and travel baseball helping players reach their goals on and off the field.  Cary was one of the founding partners of Rams Athletic Complex(2009) and is currently the Director of Athletics at Suffolk University (Boston, MA).  Prior to becoming the Athletic Director, he was the Head Baseball Coach at the collegiate level for 22 Seasons.
 
He spent 19 seasons at Suffolk University (Boston, MA) where the team won 479 contests (.635 winning percentage), recording at least 20-wins a year for 17 consecutive campaigns. He guided Suffolk to four NCAA Championship Tournament appearances, along with four GNAC titles.  He was named GNAC Coach of the Year fieve times.  In his 22 years as a head coach his teams won 534 games.  
 
In 2013, McConnell received the Jack Butterfield Award by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA). The award is given to an active New England coach who demonstrated integrity and dedication to the game of college baseball.  
 
He resides in Reading with his wife Kathy.  They have two children, Charlie and Annie. Charlie was drafted by the Seatle Mariners.  Annie is a Senior at Syractuse University.
